Yet another yule log on the fires. Of backlog. Or an Endless fire? I don't know where I'm going with this, but the end result is that I have again fallen victim to my own lack of self-control and purchased Dead Island for myself because it was 50% off on Steam.
I remember when the trailers came out for this game, and while it did look like "oh man, not another zombie game", the promises of open world zombie survival missions was still tempting. When the game actually released, the reviews were good, but not great, and I pushed it off until it was a little bit cheaper. Well, $20 was too cheap to fight.
So far, I've just played the intro mission and then beat some zombies to death on the sand with a paddle. Then, I talked to a bunch of people and got some missions. This does appear to be GTA with a bunch of zombies. It's exactly what I expected. Sometimes that is a good thing.
